Your therapist will provide a safe and respectful space for you to share your thoughts and feelings. They understand that this process can be stressful, and will do their best to make it as easy as possible for you. The evaluation process will consist of two separate meetings, the first of which will be a video-call with the therapist. This appointment typically lasts around two hours, during which you can share as much or as little as you are comfortable with, answer questions about your recent feelings and experiences, and discuss next steps with the therapist. After the appointment, your therapist will provide you with a few questionnaires to complete. Once you have finished the questionnaires, your therapist will take care of the rest. Confidentiality laws ensure that all of your information remains private and is only shared with your lawyer. Your lawyer will receive a final copy of the report within 10-15 business days. If you have any questions during this waiting period, your therapist will be available to help.

Certainly. In general, my clients provide a deposit and then pay half of the remaining fees during the initial interview. The remaining balance is due at the time of the second interview. However, I understand that financial difficulties may arise, and I am willing to work with clients to make alternative payment arrangements if necessary.

I usually complete reports within two weeks after the second interview. This allows you time to review and suggest any edits before the final report is finished. I guarantee that all reports will be done within 21 days, and if you need them sooner, rush options are available for an extra fee.

Although self-reporting of symptoms, also known as subjective testing, is useful, it is not sufficient for a comprehensive hardship evaluation. Only a qualified professional can conduct the objective testing required to thoroughly assess hardship. These professionals have extensive training in testing norms, cultural sensitivity, and impartial assessment. Objective tests provide more substantial evidence of the authenticity and accuracy of someone’s hardship assessment, which lawyers and judges value when examining applications.

Recent research suggests that including medical and psychological evaluations as part of your evidence can significantly increase the likelihood of a favorable outcome in your case. For instance, a 2004 study found that 89% of asylum seekers who submitted a medical or psychological evaluation were approved, compared to only 37.5% who did not. It is therefore highly recommended by many lawyers that you include these evaluations in your case.

If you fail to cancel your appointment with less than 48 hours’ notice, your initial $200 deposit will not be refunded.
